Rules and folder moves
Duckbill™ keeps rules in a menu on the mail ribbon at /mail. They are not a pane. Triage queues do not define them. Settings and Health redirects here. The reading pane renders Markdown as formatted text and sanitized HTML. Scripts, plugins, and other active content from a message are not executed. See ADR 0035.
Rules
A rule matches a sender or a domain. The actions are approve a sender, block that sender or domain, or map to a folder name he types. Classify all that match starts from the selected message and uses only that address. Run on mail already here applies the same rules again. A message that was filtered, approved, or blocked stays in the list.
If a domain rule and a sender rule name different folders, neither folder is chosen. No importance list, type list, accuracy percentage, or model name is stored. The standard rule list is empty.
Folders
The tree is the folders already on connected accounts, plus a folder he named in a rule. Drag a folder onto another folder on the same account to arrange it. Drag it onto another account to move it. The move finishes only when each message in that folder exists on the destination account. If the copy fails, the source message stays. Messages themselves are not dragged.
Walk existing folders moves a message only when exactly one folder that already exists on that account has the name his rule uses. The walk does not create a cleanup list and does not decide whether it runs again.
Send stays off. iCloud stays read-write. The Change iCloud mail form is not on this screen.
Opening /mail applies pending SQL migrations with the database connection the host already has. Preview was missing owner_mail_rules, so a signed-in open failed before the client could render. No environment variable changes for that step.
Messages and search
Selecting a folder lists that folder’s messages from the mailbox. Selecting a message opens it in the preview pane. HTML is sanitized and Markdown is rendered as text. Remote images, scripts, and iframes are not shown. The message list is not a stored-only catalog, and messages are not invented when a mailbox returns none.
Search is one box. A folder menu on that box chooses all folders or the folders he picks. from:, to:, and label: limit those fields, and suggestions come from addresses and labels the mailbox or his labels already have. The date range is in the dialog opened from the box. Mail, Rules, and Accounts sit above the list. Mail keeps the list and the preview pane together. Custom tabs sit above the rows and filter them. See ADR 0036.
